Assistant Principals
Meet the Assistant Principals of The Alberta School of Performing Arts!
Mr. Pressly Albritton
It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I introduce myself as one of the Assistant Principals at TASPA. I am truly honored to be a part of the TASPA community and look forward to continue working alongside Mrs. Taylor-Maye and Mrs. Gibson support academic success for all students.
I am a proud graduate of Central High School and bring over 20 years of teaching and leadership experience to this role. I began my teaching career in Chicago as a middle school math teacher. After returning to Tuscaloosa with my wonderful wife, I taught 4th grade at Arcadia Elementary School and later at the Tuscaloosa Magnet School. Most recently, I served as a math instructional coach. I am also a National Board Certified Teacher and an AMSTI Science Trainer.
For the past four years, I’ve had the privilege of serving as an Assistant Principal at TASPA. During this time, I’ve seen the incredible impact of our school’s commitment to academic excellence and the integration of the arts.
I am excited to continue TASPA’s journey of weaving the arts into every aspect of learning. I believe the arts are essential to a child’s academic, social, and emotional development. As both a parent and educator, I have seen firsthand the transformative power of the arts. I’ve watched my three daughters flourish through arts opportunities offered by Tuscaloosa City Schools and our local community. As Assistant Principal, I am committed to supporting and expanding the arts at TASPA for the benefit of all our students.
My door is always open, and I look forward to working together to help every student at TASPA reach their full potential.
Mrs. Angela Gibson
I'm so excited to be joining the TASPA family for another school year as an assistant principal!
Born and raised in Abbeville, Alabama, I am the 9th of 10 ten children. Family gatherings are quite festive! I have an amazing husband and 3 beautiful children. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in middle school education (with a concentration in Science and English Language Arts) from the College of Charleston in South Carolina. I received my Master's degree in instructional leadership from the University of West Alabama. I have been a resident of Tuscaloosa for over 6 years now, and this marks the beginning of my 18th year as an educator.
If I wasn't an educator, I probably would have pursued a career in music so being at a performing arts school is a dream for me! I have had some tremendous international traveling opportunities over the years, singing all over Italy, Spain, and Switzerland with some accomplished musicians and singers. When I'm not working, you can find me reading, journaling, listening to music, or redecorating a space in my home or office.
From the children to the adults, my favorite thing about the work I do has always been the PEOPLE! My ultimate goal is to assist parents and teachers in helping students achieve holistic success. I strive to share my passion for life-long learning and positively impact the people I serve with compassion, commitment, and integrity.
I’m ready to take on this year and do it all again…bigger and better. I love all of you already!
